There was little luck of the Irish needed over the St. Patrick’s weekend as boxers “King Callum Walsh and Thomas “The Kid” O’Toole both easily extended their unbeaten pro records in Boston.
Walsh, the 22-year-old Corkman, notched another knockout win to dispatch late-sub Wesley Tucker in the second round of his March 16 clash while O’Toole took care of business against Leonardo Ladeira on March 17.
Southpaw Walsh, always potent with his left hand and on the front foot at the Agganis Arena in Boston, Massachusetts, dropped Tucker with a series of right hooks to the head. Tucker beat the count but was clearly shaken.

Walsh upped the second and sent Tucker to the canvas for a second time after a relentless barrage of shots.
Tucker beat the count again but was unsteady — retreating back against the ropes before Walsh went in for the kill. Tucker took a knee but the ref waved the fight off after Tucker’s corner threw in the towel.
It was Walsh’s first win on the east coast, the Cobh man is based in California and is being coached by boxing Hall of Famer Freddie Roach and managed by Tom Loeffler.
UFC head Dana White, a massive supporter of Walsh, was in attendance. The fight was broadcast live on UFC Fight Pass.

Galway man O’Toole also came away with a second-round TKO win at the Ibew Hall in Boston, Massachusetts.
Elsewhere, “Mighty” Joe Ward made short work of Mario Andrade Rodriguez at Place Bell in Laval, Canada on March 16, dispatching the previously unbeaten Mexican in the first round.
