Jason Quigley failed to cause a big upset at Madison Square Garden’s Hulu Theater Saturday night — going down on a wide twelve-round unanimous decision against Edgar Berlanga.

The scores were 116-108, 116-108, and 118-106 — although many including Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn felt the fight was a lot closer.

Berlanga dropped Quigley in rounds three and five. He went for the finish in the last round looking for the knockout where he sent Quigley to the canvas twice – but the Donegal survived the onslaught for a moral victory.

Berlanga cut a disgruntled figure afterward — frustrated he couldn’t finish off the Irishman.

It’s unclear what Quigleys next move will be, with Eddie Hearn praising his performance afterward.

“I think Jason boxed out of his skin tonight.”
