Kerry/Donegal put their recent league final defeat firmly behind them last week with an emphatic victory over Rockland seniors.

The league runner-ups routed Rockland A in the New York Ladies GAA Senior Championship.

Linda Callan netted a brace of goals while Courtney Traynor scored six points.

Lily Sheehan, Maisy Redican, Michelle Dowd and Megan Fitzpatrick were also among the point scorers for Kerry/Donegal.

Na Fianna 2-13 Cavan 1-10

Na Fianna squeezed past Cvan by a single goal at Rockland in the second senior game of the week.

Rockland B 5-16 Celtanta 2-5

In the junior championship, Rockland was too strong for newly formed Cetlanta with big performances from Amelia Leyden, Sarah Donohoe. Mairead Tamanye was solid in goal, while Kate Mulvihill impressed in backs.

For Celtanta, Katie Murtagh hit some fabulous scores as did the Cronin sisters while Leigh Mulhearne and Donna Traynor were their standout performers.

Leitrim 0-19 Manhattan Gaels 4-3

Points were the name of the game in this hard-fought clash between Leitrim and Manhattan Gaels.

Despite leaking four goals Leitrim kept the scoreboard ticking with an impressive haul of 19 points which was enough to clinch victory by four points.

Laura Wynne and Megan Fitzpatrick impressed on a humid evening while Ciara O’Neill playmaking skills also caught the eye. O Neill delivered a number of superb passes into the full forwards who converted to scores.

Lauren Rodican was busy on the half toward line while Shauna McGrath worked the wings really well.

For Manhattan Gaels Lauren Burke and Laura Brennan definitely were very strong. Evergreen Shelly Hackett showed that age was only a number as the veteran was up and down the pitch relentlessly.

Overall a very high standard of football by both sides.
